FAQ

Which areas do you cover?
We are based in the South of England, but we regularly travel all over for various events.
Further afield events will of course incur our travel costs and in some instances, it may be necessary for you to provide over night accommodation.

How long do you play for?
We play for 2 x 60 minute sets.
Sometimes, clients ask if we can play 3 x 40 minute sets instead but from our experience, we have found that our standard time of 2 x 60 minutes works the best and so we would advise against it.
We can also play longer than 2 x 60 minutes although this will incur extra cost.

How much do you charge?
Prices depend on varying factors such as distance, arrival and finish time and band size so please get in touch for a bespoke quotation.
We offer discounts for mid week functions and can offer you from an acoustic duo up to an 8 piece band.
Our standard pricing assumes an arrival of 6pm and packing down at midnight - if your timings are different to this, then just let us know on your enquiry

Can we request songs?
If it's your wedding  then we can learn your choice of first dance - if you give us enough notice!
We send you our up to date song list before your event so that you can tell us which songs you love, like and hate! We then will do our best to work these in or out of our set to keep you and your guests dancing all night long!

What happens when the band are on a break?
We can provide music for before our sets, in between and after as well to save you the added cost of a DJ. Alternatively, you can supply us with either your own mp3 player or laptop for us to put through our system.
Unfortunately, we are unable to take requests for songs played during our break.

Do you have insurance and PAT tested equipment?
YES! We have Public Liability Insurance and our equipment is PAT tested. Often venues want to see a copy of our certificate and this can be sent through if and when needed.

What do the band wear?
The band wear smart white shirts with waistcoats and ties with black trousers and our singer wears something smart to match.

Can we see you play live before booking?
Get in touch to see when our next live public performance is. We look forward to seeing you there!

What if someone in the band is sick?
We are all professional full time musicians and Soulstar is a professionally run band. We work with a number of professional musicians that we've all played with many times before, so that in the event of sickness or a band member being away on tour, we are still able to provide a professional band. You wouldn't even spot the difference!

We're not allowed drums at our venue...
We can offer a band set up using percussion instead of drums. Most venues have sound limiters or are in residential areas and we are very used to working with both.

Hidden costs or band requirements?
The price quoted is the price you'll pay. As you'll see from our T's & C's, as most functions are in the evening and require us to be on site for an extended period of time, we request food and drink to be provided for us. Alcoholic drinks are not required.

How do I book you?
Email or call with your enquiry and we shall send you a quotation. If you'd like to go ahead and book us,all you need to do is pay a deposit to secure the date, with the balance due the week of your event. It couldn't be easier!  Unfortunately, we're unable to hold dates as we're lucky enough to receive multiple enquiries a week, once your deposit has been received - you are guaranteed this date.
